Whilst some people attend workshops regularly, we know that a lot of you may not know what one entails and whether you are have the right experience to attend one. YWS has written a go to guide for workshops, hopefully answering all your questions.
What are workshops all about anyway?
A yoga workshop enables students to delve deeper into their practice, by giving more time and attention to a particular topic than a class setting would allow. Whereas most classes have similar structures, workshops can vary massively depending on the topic and its focus for different abilities. Some workshops offer the opportunity for an extended practice and time to delve into a particular topic or part of the body. Others, such as restorative aerial yoga and sound baths, give you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the deep relaxation that can’t be accessed so easily in 60 – 90 minute classes. Others will be more behind the knowledge of yoga philosophy and discussion based, with the learnings taken to be able to be fed into the physical practice at a later date. There are workshops on healing such as back-care, philosophy attached to a specific styles of yoga, breath work, meditation/ mindfulness or building strength in core; whatever you are looking for...YWS will inspire your practice to another level. but I’m not good enough to go to a workshop… For many people going to a workshop can seem like a hugely intimidating and daunting. Those questions of ‘am I good enough at yoga?’, ‘have I been practising for long enough?’ or ‘I am still a beginner’ and in the end we can all too easily get talked out of it. Well YWS workshops are designed for all practitioner, that is willing to open to more time to explore your practice, deepen your practice, have more time to connect with other students and to take that added time out from the craziness of life. There are often still spots available right up until it starts, so if your plans are cancelled last minute there’s always a workshop that you can go to! Just message/contact Sayon directly to get booked in. when and where do workshops take place at YWS? YWS workshops tend to take place in Banbridge shared space Studio on 52 Bridge Street.
